Dr. Joe Bodewes (pronounced BO-DAVIS) has over 30 years of veterinary experience. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1991. In his 30 years of practice, Dr. Joe has worked in a variety of different jobs, including livestock, dairy, small animal practice, as well as in the corporate retail and fish industry and as a dog sledding guide. He has worked on everything from tigers to sugar gliders and all forms of wild animals. He has also done veterinary work in Tanzania, Belize, Nicaragua and Haiti.

Dr. Bodewes established All Creatures and with his wide breadth of experiences created a practice that truly catered to “All Creatures”. Dr. Joe collaborated with National Veterinary Association in 2019 and sold the practice in 2022. He now resides in Durango Colorado with his wife Molly but still finds time to provide relief and advice at his old stomping grounds at All Creatures in Minocqua. He is currently spending his time supporting his five grown children’s aspiration and interests and continues making the world a better place for both people and animals with his international work with Mission Rabies.
